A Teacher is that Person

A caring teacher is a person who goes out of her way to earn your trust and to get to know your emotional needs as much as your academic needs, in order to better help you.

A kind teacher greets you every morning like she hasn’t seen you in a week. Her hugs can be so warm you’ll realize it’s not just school but also your safe haven.

A good teacher thinks of you and ways in which she can help you even when not teaching you — when reading the news, when shopping for food, when a kids movie comes up, when the radio plays a certain song you like.

You may inspire her lesson plan and she spends an insane unpaid amount of time researching teaching methods that work with your mind.

A fun teacher won’t care about the goofy characters she plays to keep you entertained while learning all the same.

Her students are a priority though she may already have children of her own, but she’ll do so because she’s an educator who understands the connection between learning and affection in social behavior.

As it happens with human nature, a teacher has his or her favorites, but a good teacher never tells, because after all it’s their job to show love and fairness in the classroom.

More importantly, only a selfless person can be a lifelong teacher. And it’s crazy that they know the various roles they play in the development of a child can’t be monetarily compensated, and yet they choose to be an educator.

It’s one of my biggest prides in life to have touched many little lives in such a short amount of time.

With gratitude to all the loving teachers out there.
