Every Day Should Be a Party

Maybe it has something to do with getting older or maybe it doesn’t. But lately, I’ve been thinking about the purpose of life a lot. Call it existential crisis, a product of aging, or whatever, but it has hit me. I’ve been wondering why some people take life so darn seriously.

With all the contradictions and opinions that exist about how we should be living our lives, it’s hard sometimes to focus on our purpose or to come up with a solid individual definition for “living in the moment.”

Every day I think about how it should be a simple equation, though. And even though it is a cliché that we’ve been hearing for a long time, it is also the truth: we’re not getting any younger and tomorrow isn’t a promised day. So, invest more time in your current passions and have a little fun with it.

When I say every day should be a party, I don’t mean you should attend a (random) wild party every day, or host one and get messed up every night. I mean, that sounds like a lot of fun, too. I would say, why not? to that. But realistically, it’d be too toxic for the body and mind to handle at the end of the day.

What I mean is you should really celebrate every small accomplishment like you would a graduation, anniversary, or a birthday. Because the truth is, every day you spend on earth doing what it’s asked of you in this society, it’s a hell of a MILESTONE. Really, the more I think about it now, the more I realize we’re all resilient in some kind of way.

Life is tough, alright. Don’t be afraid to celebrate it!

It’s the least you can do to thank yourself; for making it through the extreme highs and the lows that come with each experience in this thing we call life.

So go ahead and live it up!

Give yourself a break.
