Some People: A Poem

  • by
writing by rainy window

Some people love so hard the first time
they don’t know how to do it twice.

Some people are hard on themselves
but soft on whom don’t treat them right.

Some people laugh when they mean to cry.

Some people go to church to seem nice
when they’re rotten inside.

Some people can’t let go of some people
who broke their heart.

Some people can move on the next day
and be all right.

Some people stay a little longer
even if it rips them apart.

Some people come and go like the seasons.
Some people hate goodbyes of wrong reasons.

Some people let age dictate what they should feel.
Some people peel off the labels and keep it real.

Some people have no money
and their best life they’re living.
Some people wish they won the lottery
just to give their existence some meaning.

Some people are unbothered by the fight
of not being able to sleep at night.
Some people must be the early bird
’cause they hate being third.

Some people get out of bed just to write
about some people in the middle of the night
and it may make no sense to others
but it fills their winters with summers.

Some people have a lot to say
Some people can’t even pray
but some people are okay
living life that way.
