Wait for what?

I was just thinking about how much time we waste by waiting. Consciously and subconsciously, we “wait-list” too much in life. It’s almost as we are conditioned to believe that some things do need to be put on hold for a better time, when in reality the time is now. The present is the surest thing we have.

Have you ever saved the best bite on your plate for last? A cute outfit for a “special” occasion? And how often do you hear people say they don’t want to take a picture or a video because they don’t have makeup or the right attire on?

“It’s just not the right timing,” we say. “Let’s just wait and see.” Wait for what?

You’re setting yourself up for potential disappointment, because what if you’re too full by the time you get to the last bite? And what if you miss out on an opportunity because you thought makeup was going to make the difference? What if this is the right time? Life is not a race, but you don’t want to run out of time to start living either.

I fervently believe in listening to one’s instincts, but I also believe that sometimes you have to wing it. A lot of great things come out of taking risks, breaking the pattern, and living in the moment.
